Font Aid V: Made For Japan
I submitted these glyphs to Font Aid V: Made For Japan, a collaborative typography project organized by The Society of Typographic Aficionados. Designers were asked to create glyphs that were our own personal interpretation of Japan. My glyphs represents the letter āVā and take inspiration from Japanese fans, Mount Fiji, as well as Japanese sun symbolism.
are being have been compiled into a typeface to be sold, with proceeds going toward relief efforts for the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Read more about the project here. Buy the font over at Veer and see if you can spot one of my glyphs in the feature sample tab (which I’ve made easy for you by also including it here and graying out everything in the image except for my glyph…).
