If you’re a frequent visitor to the site, which you probably are not, you might notice some changes. Like, that you can now access the blog! (Hopefully this means I won’t just be blogging secretly twice a year as has been the case thus far…) Or that the design of the project pages is cleaner and appear in a slideshow format. You might even notice that the slideshow in the homepage moves faster now and all the slideshows on the site now work with keyboard navigation. Yep. All that is true. Thanks for noticing! (If you are a return visitor and DON’T notice these design changes, for the love of god, please clear your cache so you can see all my hard work. If you clear your cache AND still don’t see the changes then you just aren’t paying attention.)

I spent the better part of the holidays working on this update (between gorging myself on peppermint bark and roast beef, and boozing it up like a good holidays-celebrator, all while while watching a mega marathon of Breaking Bad. (OMG that show is amazing… So glad my little brother insisted that I watch. But please no spoilers, I’m only through season 3.)

Remember when I was telling you about Font Aid (like 2 posts down but several months back) and that I submitted a few glyphs? Well I found out that SOTA has finished compiling all the submissions into a font and it’s now available for purchase. I was more excited than necessary to see that Veer used on of my glyphs as part of the sample image on the product page. Anyways, I grayed out the rest of the image to highlight my tiny glyph and make it seem more special. (See below. Full size here.)

If you want to buy the font, you can do so from MyFonts, Veer, Fonts.com, and Linotype. It’s $20 and all the proceeds go directly to organizations in Japan who are helping with relief efforts after last year’s earthquake and tsunami, which is pretty awesome.

ARG! I was hacked! As a result, the site has been down for a bit, and sadly, all ratings were erased. Please feel free to re-rate (click the heart to tell me you love things), or rate for the first time—it would do wonders for my ego. On the bright side, I took this as an opportunity to spruce up the site design a little and finally implement some Typekit fonts instead of boring old Helvetica. (Sorry Helvetica. We had a good run but I think it’s best for us both if we just move on.)

It took me long enough, but the new site is here. I’ve been designing and redesigning this thing for a good eight months. Ridiculous. I am the worst client I’ve ever had. I wanted to fire myself so many times. And after all this, I’m still probably going to harass myself for all kinds of absurd edits really soon.

But nevermind all that. Can’t you just let me enjoy this launch? Geez Louise.

You can rate projects by clicking on the heart next to the project and letting my know you like it. Notice I don’t let you break my heart though. I wanted to avoid negativity so I didn’t build in that functionality. Still, please give me any and all critiques and criticisms you have on anything you see here. Preferably constructive though. I do have feelings. And I’m usually pretty nice to people, at least to their faces, so keep that in mind.

If you want to keep up with my goings on, you can subscribe to the projects RSS, the blog RSS, or even follow me on Twitter but I can’t promise that it will be very entertaining or of much relevance. I will probably tell you what I eat and when I’m at the gym—and I love to eat, and am trying to get into shape, so keep that in mind.

And just because I love you, a photo of yours truly in the current semi-disastrous state of the studio. (In the middle of a remodel and spring cleaning, obviously.)

Love Always,
